You and Berlin?

Travellers to cities are people who want to see something. That's exactly what you will get in abundance in Berlin. There are numerous sights but the following are a must-see: Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate), Siegessäule (Victory Column) and Fernsehturm (Television Tower), especially for those visiting Berlin for the first time. But there are things to see everywhere in Berlin. The Berlin Wall, DDR capital city, workers' movement, revolutions, and the seat of government. And: No German city is livelier. Theatres, concerts and shows: from A to Z and from small to large. Come and marvel at Berlin!

B IS FOR BUS AND BAHN

Obviously, Berlin is not a village. But it still always surprises us how large this city really is. You won't get far on foot here. In Berlin, public transport, i.e. the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram and bus, is a reliable alternative to the car, which you don't need here. The Berlin local train ("Bahn") service works very well and makes the whole city accessible. Frequency of departures is less than approx. 10 minutes. So when you ask somebody when the departure time for the XY S-Bahn is, you will get a funny look. Here you just go to the station or bus stop and then the train or bus turns up. You can even get your Berlin bus- and train ticket free from us, your Seehotel Grunewald.

Take a trip by bike. The journey from the Seehotel Grunewald, along the Havel, to the ferry pier Pfaueninsel takes just under an hour. After a short crossing, a fairytale place awaits you with a white castle and peacocks beating your bike. The island is a unesco World Heritage Site.By the way, the water buffaloes also living there act as natural lawnmowers.

A green soul

As the name already suggests - Seehotel directly translates to Lake Hotel - our hotel is located directly on the water. Enjoy some time out from the hustle and bustle of the city. Go for a swim by the Havelstrand, enjoy a peaceful trip on a pedalo or a boat tour on the Havel. That too is Berlin, because here, there are limitless possibilities.

Kids, kids!

Naturally, as a family you are also very welcome here with children. Seehotel Grunewald is particularly suitable for a family vacation in Berlin: friendly accommodation, an ideal location and proximity to the city, where there is lots for children to discover. For example, the natural history museum in Berlin Mitte presenting Dinos & Co as well as the Legoland Discovery Centre at Potsdamer Platz, where famous Berlin buildings can be admired in miniature, are definitely worth a visit!
